Marsmelodrama Productions

Faith-forward design, user-centered structure, and a digital home built for homeschool theatre families.

Marshmelodrama Productions is a Christ-centered youth theatre program exclusively serving homeschool students through performance, creativity, and community. Rooted in a deep legacy and guided by their mission to “Keep Jesus Center Stage,” the organization needed a new website that would reflect their values, support their families, and clearly communicate what makes their program special. They wanted a website that felt welcoming to new homeschool parents, streamlined for returning families, and aligned with their faith-driven mission.

What We Did

✔ Brand Colors + Typography
✔ Website Strategy
✔ UX Audit (User Interviews)
✔ Custom WordPress Website

The Challenge

An outdated site that didn’t match their mission—or meet the needs of homeschooling families

Marshmelodrama’s previous website felt more like a barrier than a bridge. It lacked clear information about their programs, made registration confusing, and left new visitors feeling like outsiders. Parents—especially those new to homeschooling—found it hard to get answers. And that exclusivity ran counter to everything Marshmelodrama stands for: warmth, welcome, and faith-driven creativity.

The Strategy

A collaborative refresh that honored the past while building for the future

We began by listening—deeply. Through user interviews and a comprehensive UX audit, we worked alongside Marshmelodrama’s team to uncover areas where their existing website could better serve their mission. Families shared that they needed clearer information, easier registration steps, and a tone that truly reflected the program’s warm, Christ-centered spirit.

Rather than overhaul for the sake of change, we focused on building upon what was already meaningful; preserving the heart of the organization while bringing clarity to the user experience. We introduced refreshed brand colors and typography to express joy and approachability. A content-first strategy guided us in reorganizing the site structure, ensuring each audience—students, parents, and supporters—could easily find what they needed.

The new design includes a dedicated student page, simplified sign-up and sponsorship forms, and language that aligns with their mission. Most importantly, every decision was made with reverence for their legacy, especially the voice and vision of their beloved founder.

"Good design isn’t just visual — it’s how we serve our community. This redesign will make it easier for every family to find their place here."

Empowering the Client

Honoring legacy and guiding the process with clarity and care

With a mission rooted in faith and a legacy shaped by their beloved founder, Marshmelodrama’s voice is both sacred and central to their identity. From typography to messaging, every aspect of the new website was designed to reflect that voice with authenticity and warmth.

Throughout the project, we’ve led with strategy, clarity, and a deep respect for the organization’s values. By grounding each decision in research and user insight, we’ve helped translate their mission into a digital experience that feels both modern and true to who they are.

The result is a website that not only looks better; it functions with purpose. It supports their families, aligns with their beliefs, and sets the stage for continued growth.

"For a growing nonprofit, clarity is critical. This project is about more than a new website — it’s about giving Marshmelodrama the confidence and tools to move forward."

The Results (ongoing, focused on UX clarity and momentum)

While the new website is still in development, the UX audit and research process have already created important clarity for Marshmelodrama’s leadership and community. Through user interviews and a focused audit of the existing site, we surfaced key gaps and friction points. Particularly around program clarity, registration flows, donation visibility, and overall user experience.

These insights gave the organization a clear understanding of why a redesign was needed. Not simply for aesthetics, but to better serve their mission and their community. For a nonprofit preparing to seek additional funding and expand their reach, having a modern, clear, and trustworthy online presence is critical.

The redesign now underway is grounded in that research ensuring that as Marshmelodrama transitions to their new site, they do so with a user-centered, mission-aligned foundation. The process has empowered the leadership team to move forward with confidence, knowing their website will support both their current families and their future growth as they continue to offer this life-changing program to even more families.

Final Thoughts

At its heart, this project was about more than building a new website—it was about creating a digital space that truly reflects who Marshmelodrama is: a faith-driven, family-centered program that pours into the lives of homeschool students through theatre and community.

By leading with listening, strategy, and design integrity, we’ve helped lay a digital foundation that supports their mission, honors their legacy, and welcomes new families into something beautiful. It’s a reminder that thoughtful design doesn’t just look good—it serves, uplifts, and helps purpose-driven organizations shine.
