Start Where You Are: UX Websites for Neurodivergent Minds

Last night I took my 12-year-old daughter to see Mamma Mia! at the theatre. We love musicals. We love live theatre. And we have a little tradition: after the show, we grab a fancy dessert and talk about everything. What we loved about the show, what’s going on in life, the future, the past, all of it.

But here’s how the night started: Before the show, I spilled red wine all over myself. Earlier in the day, it was stew. A full-on double spill day. I was laughing at myself, but my daughter—who’s thoughtful and funny and somehow always knows how to handle a situation—jumped into problem-solving mode.

We didn’t have napkins. So she tried soaking it up with popcorn. (It didn’t work.) Then she smiled and said, “Don’t worry, Mom. It’s dark. No one can see what a hot mess you are.”

And you know...she's quite right! So even though I looked a little ridiculous and smelled like dinner, I didn’t let it ruin the night. We had a blast. The show was incredible. Dessert was rich and over-the-top, just how we like it. And we talked about everything from high school may be like to what she wants to be when she grows up (this week) to which ABBA song is the best. (It’s obviously “Lay All Your Love on Me,” don’t @ me.)

Here’s why I’m telling you this on a business blog: because this is what real life looks like.

I run YMV Creative—a UX website design studio focused on helping service providers who are neurodivergent or who serve neurodivergent clients. I know what it’s like to juggle a full business, a full heart, and a brain that doesn’t always do things the "standard" way. And I design for people who get that.

Some days, I’m on it. Other days, I’m covered in stew and wine before I even sit down at my desk. But I always show up.

Whether it’s for a musical with my daughter or a UX consultation with a client, I don’t wait around for conditions to be perfect. I don’t let a messy morning or an off day stop me from doing meaningful work, being present, or moving forward. That mindset is built into how I partner with my clients.

Why That Matters for Your Website

If you’re a neurodivergent business owner or serve a community that deserves better accessibility and design, you already know the typical website process often isn’t built with you in mind. You deserve a website that supports the way you think and work. Something intuitive, spacious, and low-stress.

That’s where I come in.

I design strategic, accessible UX websites for service providers who need clarity, function, and flexibility. No heavy agency process. No jargon. Just a thoughtful, human-centered approach that honors how your brain works and what your audience truly needs.

What You Can Expect When You Work With Me:

Whether you’re starting from scratch or reworking something that doesn’t feel like you anymore, I’m here to help you bring it all into alignment—even if your world feels a little chaotic.

What I’ve Learned From Being Covered in Wine (Besides “Use a Lid”)

We often wait until things feel tidy, planned, and polished before we show up fully. In business, in branding, in life. But the truth? We can’t wait for perfect. We have to start where we are.

If you’ve been putting off your website because you don’t have the "right" words or your brand still lives inside a Google Doc somewhere, consider this your permission to begin anyway. I’ll help you translate your vision into a website that works for you, not just for some imaginary "ideal."

If I can strut into a theatre drenched in red wine and still have the night of my life, you can absolutely launch a site that reflects your brilliance. Even if it’s still unfolding.

Let’s build something that looks and feels like your best self, not despite the messiness of life, but because of it.
